SUSTAINABLE MANUFACTURING

Being sustainable is good for business and our community.

HOME    WHO WE ARE    OUR MANUFACTURING PRINCIPLES   SUSTAINABLE MANUFACTURING

Situated in rural Staffordshire, we know how important the natural environment is to all of us.

We are passionate advocates for sustainability. Our commitment to building a sustainable business helps us to ensure that Brucom, our community and our planet will be around for a long time to come.

We actively work to combat climate change and tackle the negative impacts that we humans have on the planet. We know that engineering and manufacturing have a huge part to play in adapting to build a more sustainable society. To this end, we’ve incorporated tangible actions across our facility to improve our sustainability.

Our commitments to sustainability

We're certified to ISO 14001:2015 standards

We hold ISO certification for our waste and environmental management procedures, reflecting international standards for sustainability.

Recycling and waste reduction

We're introducing full recycling with automatic reclamation machines across production lines, so that 95% of all waste is recycled either onsite or by partners. Our goal is to a become a zero-to-waste landfill business by 2028.

Championing electric vehicle use

We don’t just excel at creating electrical components; we champion using electric vehicles. We use a fleet of EVs to reduce our use of hydrocarbons in our production and offer staff incentives to switch to using a personal electric vehicle too.

Powering ourselves on solar power

We’ve been using a 150-kilowatt solar array since 2022, generating 184 megawatt-hours of electricity per year. Thanks to a recent extension, we now generate more electricity than we need, meaning we put green power back into the grid. Over the last four years, Brucom have saved 47,553 Kg of CO2. We recently commissioned an expansion with the hope of generating more green electricity.
