From design to manufacture, we will turn a sheet of plastic into almost any part you require.
We have invested in the skills and tools to offer affordable vacuum forming services. Our design team is available to help with material selection, CAD / CAM designs, 3D visuals and prototypes to bring your projects to life. All of our quality tooling is produced in-house to reduce lead times and ensure quality.
The benefits of vacuum forming
The main benefits of vacuum forming are flexibility and effectiveness. Prototypes, casings, packaging and other products can be made quickly, accurately and at cost-effective prices. This service is a perfect solution for clients who require too many units to produce by hand and too few units to produce via injection moulding. It’s the perfect middle ground solution for you.
Vacuum forming casing for box builds and PCB assemblies
Vacuum forming casing and boxes helps to reduce cost and speed up production. This is often the best solution for our clients, especially for products which are hidden deep inside systems. We have the capability to design and create bespoke moulding for any size or shape of box build, including:
How does vacuum thermoforming work?
Vacuum forming, also called thermoforming or plastic moulding, is a kind of injection moulding designed to create a hollow plastic shape.
We use in-house tooling and injection moulding machines to design, manufacture and overmould any connector, PCB or component to your requirements. We offer fast turnaround and low cost, without compromising on quality.
- The heater first warms up the thermoplastic so that it is flexible.
- The Plate pushes the mould up and into the thermoplastic.
- The vacuum draws all of the air out, sucking the thermoplastic around the mould.
- The thermoplastic cools down to hold its newly formed shape.
