TESTING & QUALITY ASSURANCE
We hard wire quality into everything we do, from design to shipping.
HOME WHO WE ARE OUR MANUFACTURING PRINCIPLES TESTING & QUALITY ASSURANCE
We refine our manufacturing processes to maximise control and quality.
By synergising the design, production and distribution of electrical components and assemblies, we can ensure quality throughout the process. This idea was foundational to the creation of Brucom and continues to guide our manufacturing principles today. Don’t compromise between cost and quality when we can provide you with both.
We've invested in various top-of-line pieces of testing equipment, including world leading MK Test Systems. We ensure every product we manufacture is tested to international standards before it leaves our facility.
How we ensure quality
All our products meet international quality standards
We are ISO9001:2015 compliant, meaning all of our products are certified to international quality standards. This is a gold standard for electrical products, and we proudly invest in maintaining this standard across our products and services.
From the quality of our materials to the careful attention we pay when crafting components, we ensure that every product we produce exceeds expectations. We ensure that testing and inspection happen throughout our process. Quality doesn’t just ensure our products are durable and reliable, they ensure that your products function to a high standard and you can avoid costly repairs and replacements.
We have a zero fault policy
As well as having a dedicated test and inspection department which tests every product before dispatch, we've recently introduced roaming inspections to further ensure quality. Our expert staff work carefully and confidently, utilising the best tools, machinery and materials to ensure quality.
We thoroughly test all components
We test and inspect 100% of our assemblies and components, and use automated testing equipment to ensure quality. We use computerised and AI-powered test apparatus which ensure all of our products are electrically compliant with our client’s requirements, without delaying our fast production processes or adding unreasonable additional cost.
Our testing process
We conduct thorough testing utilising a range of testing equipment, including Toneohm wiring test equipment, purpose-built function test equipment, comprehensive test jigs for a full range of manufacturers' connectors and routine crimp height and force monitoring.
Electrical compliance testing
We test and inspect components throughout the manufacturing process to ensure continuous attention to detail and avoid costly and time consuming fixed later down the production line. We employ the world's leading industry standard in wire harness test apparatus from MK test systems. This helps us maximise our efficiency and maintain our quality standards in quick and cost-effective ways.
Using the MK test systems, our products undergo a range of tests, including:
Continuity test and resistance measurement in 2 and 4 wire (Kelvin) mode
Short Circuit test and resistance measurement in 2 and 4 wire (Kelvin) mode
High Voltage DC Insulation Resistance test
High Voltage DC Hi-Pot & Dielectric test
High Voltage AC Hi-Pot & Dielectric test
Capacitance measurement
Component Testing, both passive and active.
Tests compliant with major Mil, IEC and OEM standard (AIPS,GTR, BAC, BAe etc)
Automatic delivery of test report showing measured values and nature of failure diagnostics
Insulation resistance testing
We comprehensively test our wiring harnesses using the NX Hipot Tester by Dynalab test systems. This allows us to 100% computerise the testing of our harnesses, and ensures high voltage testing for insulation resistance and dielectric withstand.
This Dynalab test system allows us to test:
50 to 1500VDC Hipot Testing
50 to 1000VAC
5Mohm to 1Gohm Insulation Resistance
Using AI to test overmoulded components
We have recently invested in the AI Vision System from Keyence to help us ensure high quality even when overmoulding. This AI camera helps us to detect misalignments or product faults before components are encapsulated. This ensures that products are thoroughly inspected before overmoulding, reducing time-intensive and expensive fixes later on.
Since installation, it’s helped increase the percentage of overmoulded products reaching our quality standard on the first attempt.
Innovating our processes means improving your products
We are constantly innovating our processes, products and machinery to ensure our products are the best.
