Understanding the process of your custom-built order
CHLOE BRUCE

As a design and manufacturing company, we specialise in crafting custom orders for our clients.

Whether you need a complex PDU system for a bespoke construction vehicle or a branded power cable, we can deliver.

Before you click ‘order’ on our online store, or contact our sales team for a quote, you might want to understand how we craft these custom orders and why you should invest in this service. We offer customisation across our product line for larger orders and for customised power and battery cables on our online store.

What is the process of a custom-built order?

When it comes to customising designs for PCBs, PDUs, wiring harnesses, cable assemblies and more, we follow a clear process which allows us to be efficient and cost-effective, whilst maintaining quality.

Step 1: We translate your needs into electrical solutions

The customer-built order process starts off with the receipt of the purchase order or payment by credit card, which then allows us to add your order into the production queue. We will then produce a design and/or sample that lets us review our proposal with you. We pride ourselves on collaboration, and work closely with clients to make sure that they are happy with what we are going to produce. It’s at this point that we can make amendments to the design to ensure it meets your expectations and specific needs.

Step 2: We rapidly prototype and present a final design

We will then test set builds which is the first test we do to make sure that it works for you, and if it fails then we send it back to get it fixed so that the product is perfect for you. If needed, we will order raw materials to make the custom order. We’ve nurtured relationships with our suppliers over many years, allowing us to access the highest quality materials at reasonable rates. Depending on your applications and the conditions that the product will be used in, we will use different materials and processes. For example, if you need superior sealing from wear and tear or water ingress, we might recommend overmoulding.

Step 3: We manufacture to international standards for quality

After this, we will send it to production to get it built properly. We manufacture to exacting standards, using the latest technology and machinery to ensure we craft products that perform and last. If you’re looking for even more customisation, we can brand and label your design with our in-house printing and engraving services.

Step 4: We test and inspect thoroughly

Then once it is produced, we will test it to make sure it's not faulty and performs all necessary functions. We 100% test and inspect everything we create, not just at the end, but throughout the manufacturing process. We have fully computerised testing and a dedicated inspection department to ensure we maintain our certified standards for quality.

Step 5: We ship the final product to you

Finally, if the product passes the tests, we will then dispatch it to get shipped to you within your desired timelines. Our automated machinery and streamlined processes allow us to go from inquiry to despatch quickly.

What are the benefits of having a customised product?

Custom products offer a range of benefits to our clients who have specific requirements or additional needs. You can rest easy knowing your product will perform the functions and to the high-quality you require. Save time searching for a standard product that almost fits your needs by working with us to create one that definitely will.

Another benefit is that our custom products offer superior durability and quality, because they are engineered with materials that are designed for your applications. If you need electrical assemblies that can withstand harsh environments, high temperatures, vibrations, or constant movement, we can craft it.
